Fighting let lag... must get note written to let folks know we made it back down under. We've managed 17,000 km give or take and 36 hours of travel on four flights from Winnipeg, Vancouver; Los Angeles; Brisbane and finally Perth. We are hoping to explore the west coast for a couple of weeks prior to starting back at work in the Grampians.
The only unfortunate bit with the timing is that with Aiden just finishing his first month of school he had managed to bring home an assortment of unpleasant cold viruses which our immune systems held at bay while we were busy preparing to travel and which caught up to us while we were captive within the confines of the planes. Sore throats, running noses, coughing and ears which don't take kindly to changes in cabin pressure, we discovered first hand can add a bit more of a challenge to travel.
Sick, or crook as they would say down here, is not the ideal way to start out on an adventure but once we knock back the fatigue of travel we should be right (i.e. good to go). We are settled into a nice B&B east of Perth to rest up for the night. We've rented a car and hope to camp and explore south down to Albany in some sort of loop. Keep posted here for updates.

Hope that you are all now fully recovered from the latest childhood germs going around. Have enjoyed reading the blog and looking forward to posts of your travels in SW WA. Also looking forward to seeing you all and getting thrashed by Roo and yourself at Carcasonne (well perhaps not the last bit :-)). Love F&S
